Matthew 5

...you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world... let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory unto your Father who is in Heaven...

And the water keeps on fallin from the Sky...

Well, it's been pretty rainy out here! Sometimes it feels like we could float away! :) I've heard that back home in Virginia it's been beautiful... hope you all are enjoying the nice weather:) Well, I haven't had much time to post because of school; however, this week is finals for Jess and I!! So, if you think of it to pray for us girls, we would greatly appreciate it!

The fam is doing well...Boys are busy with school and crazy as ever, Dad and Mom have been such diligent workers and making the most of every moment, and each day we count down till we see our sweet home, family, and friends! 24 days left!!! The shows have been going great! Last night we completed our 19th show in Ottumwa, Iowa, and now we have 18 performances to go! The Lord has been so kind to us. This morning (after listening to Dad read from 1 Timothy) each of us shared at least one thing we were thankful for. We were reminded of God's great kindness to us as He protects us on the road and allows us to arrive to all of our shows. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has kept us in their prayers! You all are so very kind and thoughtful! Also, the boys want to thank the Petrys (our next door neighbors) for taking care of their dogs while they're away...you guys are awesome and we are so grateful for you!

Well, I will definitely have more time to post when school is out... April 29th!!! Hooray! :)

So bye for now, and I'll be posting more soon!

Happy 15th Jonathan!!!

Wow Jonathan! I can't believe you turned 15 yesterday!! Time has crept up on me again! I know I'm late, and I wish I had more time to honor you (and more pictures) but time has been scarce, and we are setting up for a show right now!

Well, I want to start by thanking you for the awesome brother that you are to me and all of us kids! Thank you for your example of a godly young man. One thing I admire about you is how you always prefer others before yourself. You are such a true friend, and very kind to everyone.

God has given you many gifts! Jon, you are extremely talented at the piano and I love hearing all the new songs you have been writing! Thanks for being so willing to help me with my songs(even though they are bad, you still help me work on them to make em better!)! I love, love playing music with you!:) You are so good at drums, violin, math, art, bball, and making us laugh! Bub you are hilarious! Most people would'nt know it because you're so quiet in public, but you are one of the funniest guys ever!

Lastly, I want to thank you for your faithfulness towards your Father in Heaven. I am encouraged when I see you reading your bible, and I love watching the Lord work in you.

Jon, I love ya so much and I hope you had a great b-day yesterday even though we were on the road! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY! love you!

love ~Jen

Family Devotions

Every morning as a family, we have been spending time in God's word. Over the course of 3 days, we completed the book of Titus. We took a chapter a day, wrote it out, broke it down, discussed the meaning of each passage, shared our favorite verses, and asked questions about the parts we didn't understand. I am so thankful for such wise parents who lead us in devotions and help us to understand the word of God! This book is a letter from Paul to Titus. Titus was a friend and helper of Paul, and was working as the leader of the church in Crete. The church was struggling, unorganized, and made up of people who needed much instruction in being Christians. Paul tells Titus and the church how God's people should live. This was such an encouraging book, reminding us of how we, as God's children should strive to be.

In chapter 2, Paul instructs the older men and women to train, mentor, and set an example for the younger men and women. Chapter 2 was very convicting to all of us as we each discussed the areas in which we can grow.

I think my favorite passage was chapter 3 especially verses 3-7

"At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of HIS MERCY. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

To My Favorite Dad in the Whole Wide World:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :)

Dad, I cannot begin to thank you enough for the godly father you are to us kids. Everyday I'm reminded of God's great kindness to me in blessing me with such a wise, caring and loving father! Next to the Lord, there is no one that I love, trust, or respect more than you and Mom. I treasure your guidance and authority over me. I love learning from your wisdom, and I am so very thankful for your leadership in my life. Thank you for your friendship! This last year especially, I have seen the Lord strengthen our relationship. I have loved spending more time with you, whether it's family devotions, driving in the RV, going out to lunch, working out at the gym:), watching a movie, playing music together, talking, or just hanging out at home. Thank you for always making me laugh! Dad, you are SO funny and we have tons of memories of us just laughing till we can't breathe!

Another thing I admire about you, is your diligence. You are such a hard worker, and you do so much to provide for us all. I remember many times you would come home tired after a hard day's work, and still, you would read us a story every night! You never complain about working, and you always encourage us to do the same! I count it a great privilege to have the opportunity to play music with my family and such talented musicians! You are an amazing guitar player, and I could listen to you play the oldies all day! :)

Thank you for teaching us from God's word.

Thank you for your example of a godly husband and father.

Thank you for always taking us to see neat places.

Thank you for your love for all of us.

Thank you for your love for your Savior.

Dad, you are so dear to my heart and I love you so much! I hope you enjoy your birthday! LOVE YOU!!!!

Love, your ferfer :)

Dad to the rescue :)

Our First Campground Experience

"Complete with bathrooms, showers, hiking trails, basketball courts, dodge ball..." Sounds pretty great on paper right??? Well, check out how "happy" our Happy Acres experience really was!

Last night we pulled into Happy Acres campground to stay the night in Indiana. Our handy dandy campground directory gave us an awesome description and a high rating of the campsite, so we anticipated a fun filled evening as we arrived!

Here's a pic of the joyful acreage:)

The basketball courts were completely covered w/ picnic tables, boards, and random junk... Sorry boys! No b-ball tonight :'(

Since the grounds were beaming with such happiness and bliss, we decided to go on a hike... :)

We ended up walking a mile and 1/2 down to the Subway for dinner...yummm:) The whole way, we signaled over 100 truck drivers to blow their horns. We had a few horn blowers, but most of them were grumps and thought we were crazy!

jdjdjdjdjd"Subway eat fresh!"

On our way back, the rain began to downpour on us! We tried to run but most of us got side cramps from eating too much...Justin said he had 3 side stitches! haha! I was so proud of JJ and Justin for keeping up with all of us! They really ran their best! By the time we finally got back to the RV, we were drenched from head to toe! On top of that, none of us could take showers because the bathrooms were all locked up and out of service!! That night, all of us were dying laughing at our conclusions of "why happy acres is so happy". Jord said it was because all the mad people were someplace else, but I think it was because all the best bros, sis and parents were right there laughing with me, making a memory of a life time! jgjgjgjgjgjgdjdjd All the guys soaked but still smiling!

nsdjfjfGoodbye Happy Acres!!! :) We really did end up having a great time!
